Match the lure to the fish.
Pick where you fish and what you're chasing. We'll show the size that matches the baitfish they feed on, the jig head to rig it on, and the lures that fit.
Start with the baitfish
Small fish eat small baitfish, big fish eat big ones. Choose a species above, or tap a size band to see every lure in that size.

Size-matched rigging.
Pick a lure to see it at true length and the hook size that suits it. Then rig it dead straight: a kinked lure spins.
Outlines projected from our CAD (STEP) files at true length: side view on top, from above below, which shows the paddle or forked tail. Green dashes show the hook path and the dot the exit point: illustration only.
Rig on a jig head
- Match the hook2/0–3/0 jig heads for the 3" and 4", 5/0–7/0 for the 5" and 7". Pick the weight to match depth and current.
- MeasureLay the jig head alongside the lure with the collar at the nose. Mark where the hook bend sits: that's where the point will exit.
- InsertPush the hook point into the centre of the nose and thread the lure around the bend and along the shank, keeping it centred.
- Exit and checkPush the point out through the back at your mark and slide the lure up snug against the collar. It must sit dead straight.
Rig weedless
Use a wide-gap offset worm hook that suits the lure's length and thickness. Because the point stays tucked into the body, a weedless rig is handy around weed, snags and structure.PLACEHOLDER (to confirm): recommended weedless hook sizes for each lure. Add them in the section setting "Weedless hook sizes".
- Start at the nosePush the hook point about 1 cm into the centre of the nose and bring it out through the underside.
- Slide and turnThread the lure up the hook until the nose sits snug against the offset bend, then rotate the hook so the point faces the lure's back.
- MeasureLay the hook alongside the body and mark where the bend sits on the belly.
- Tuck the pointPush the point up through the belly at your mark and just skin-hook it into the back, so the lure hangs straight, not bunched.
Tip: rig it dead straight. A kinked lure spins. Open the full rigging guide
Read the water, pick the colour.
Water clarity and light decide how far a fish can see your lure. Carry a few colours so you can change the look on the water.
Naturals
In clear water fish get a good look, so natural baitfish colours like Whitebait Silver look like the real thing.
- Whitebait Silver
- Tommy Pearl
- Anchovy Mist
- Blue Mack
Contrast
When the water is coloured or the light is flat, a stronger gold or yellow gives fish more to find.
- Poddy Gold
- Yellow Tail
Glow UV
Glow UV colours stand out in low light and dirty water: dawn, dusk, deep water and churned-up shorelines.
- Pilchard Glow UV
- Gars Flash Glow UV
- Squid Ink Glow UV

Soft bait tips.
01Which soft bait size?
Match the baitfish: 3" for trout and smaller fish, 4" to 5" for most saltwater fishing, and the 7" Storm Shad when big fish are feeding on big baitfish.
02Paddle tail or forked tail?
The Cyclone Minnow has a paddle tail that creates movement on a steady retrieve or lift-and-drop. The Storm Shad has a forked tail suited to slow retrieves and twitch-and-pause.
03Fish following but not biting?
Change the look. Start with the paddle-tail Cyclone Minnow on a slow, steady retrieve, and switch to the forked-tail Storm Shad if fish follow but won't commit.
04How heavy should my jig head be?
Pick the weight to match depth and current: use the lightest jig head that still gets your lure down to where the fish are.
05Why does my lure spin?
It is almost always rigged off-centre. Thread it dead straight along the shank and bring the point out on the centreline: a kinked lure spins.
06When should I use Glow UV?
Glow UV colours stand out in low light and dirty water. Natural colours like Whitebait Silver suit clear water.
